Sales Consultant
At J&H Outdoors, we are looking for people who love the outdoors, enjoy talking with others, and want to inspire people to be more active in any outdoor setting.
Job duties
- Greet customers and use the sales process to understand their needs.
- Provide positive, engaging customer service and expert gear recommendations.
- Open and close cash registers, process purchases, and explain payment and exchange policies.
- Describe merchandise, explain its use and care, and demonstrate products when helpful.
- Merchandise products according to the sales plan and maintain a clean sales floor.
- Help customers try on or fit merchandise, bag purchases, and wrap gifts.
- Receive inventory, process new stock, and prepare merchandise for purchase.
- Work customer appreciation events and complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holiday seasons.
- Retail experience is preferred, but not required.
- Strong oral and written communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and initiate tasks independently.
- Basic understanding of computers and point-of-sale systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a positive, collaborative attitude.
- Interest in developing your outdoor knowledge and skills.
